The Boathouse Weirdos were formed in an old butcher shop in 2007 by Sally Bishop, Tom Meyer and Somerset Barnard. It was here that songs like 'Selling This Old Guitar', 'Treat Em Mean' and '20s Comedy' were born. By April 2008, a wily veteran from Inverell, NSW by the name of Steven "Fluke" De Gunst had joined them on bass guitar. When he wasn't banging on about the Manly Sea Eagles he contributed lyrical masterpieces such as 'Fishing Song' and 'Drink'. Shortly afterwards the Weirdos recorded an EP titled 'Greed'. In January 2009 Barnard was removed from the band and eventually replaced on lead guitar by Gabe "Pedals" Parker and Nikolaine Martin on keyboards. After surviving Tom driving them off a hill on the way to a gig and Steve's bad moods, the Weirdos have recorded a cd and are back on the gig circuit.
