Bobby Lombard is an acquired taste, like black jelly beans, chinotto or green olives. He is the original troubadour. A poet. A pluviophile. An amorist. He has an old school elegance and an infatuation with all things dark, delicate and unusual. Inspired by musics of a by gone era, Bobby’s sound can best be described as contemporary vintage - somewhere between alternative blues noir and spooky neo-swamp. It is a culmination of nostalgia, sleepiness and melancholy, focused more on space, texture and colour in noise. His songs are stories about his life, secrets close to the heart, abstracts of imagination and expressions of thought. He finds inspiration in such pleasures as: love, loss, allurement, loneliness and small batch gin. Sounds like Tom Waits, Timber Timbre, Pink Floyd, The Doors, Leonard Cohen, Nick Cave and Dr John. It is best enjoyed through headphones, under soft moonlight or shared with your lover, lazing at home after a big night out on the town.
