Brisbane psych-rockers ‘Bonsai Bay’ are stoked to be releasing their debut EP It’d Be Rude Not To on May 2nd. Recorded with Joel Myles at Brisbane’s ‘Hunting Ground Studios’, the release is a combination of explosive riffs, modern psychedelia and dreamy-alt rock, with a sprinkle of dance influence to boot. It’d Be Rude Not To follows the journey of a night out: from pres to kickons and all the trials along the way. From a look at the dark forces at work in the ‘pokieverse’ on More Chilli, to the lonely walk home of Make Like a Tree, the band seek to highlight the pitfalls and pleasures of party culture. Heavily inspired by the sounds of Tame Impala, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, Nice Biscuit and Northeast Party House, the band explore their psych sound through a different lens on each track.
