Edit history

Born of a Jackal are a 4 piece heavy rock band comprising of band members; Chris Reys (vocals, guitar), Adam Rowsell (guitar, vocals), Simon Reys (bass, vocals), and Tim McAlary (drums). Distinctive melodic vocals combined with uniquely intricate lyrics and complex rhythms have all become features of BOAJ’s innovative style. The band was originally formed by brothers-in-law, Adam and Chris, and was joined later by Chris’ brother Simon, then completed by Tim – Simon joining from Scalene (who achieved airplay on Triple J) and Tim, whose former band Dogbuoy achieved regular radio airplay. Together since January 2003, BOAJ has gigged with bands such as The Butterfly Effect, Evermore, Giants of Science, Nunchukka Superfly, and Tension. In 2004, BOAJ were officially recognised in the nationwide MusicOz awards where they were Top 5 finalists in the ‘Rock’ category. The Three songs entered are taken from our soon to be released album.
