Boxthorn took to the streets of Phillip Island Victoria in late 2013 as a three-piece band after chewing the grit on punk, rock, metal, hardcore with slab of Australian influence. Past bands the members were involved in include Dunraven and Suicitey. Along with chewing this grit the boys are drawn into what society is doing to our fauna, flora and environment, two of the members are currently park rangers. Not being able to find a vocalist on the Island, the individual sound of two lead voices was born with Dan & Bob. After a handful of shows they recorded a couple of tracks with stand outs- ‘Hey Man’ & ‘White Lines’. White Lines throws out thumping bass line with lyrics absorbed in road kill. Boxthorn created the successful ‘Rock for Rangers- 2015’ benefit gig in support of the Thin Green Line Foundation, much needed funds were raised which will directly benefit park rangers from around the world and the families of those who have been injured or killed in their line of work,
