Brad Stafford brings a distinctive perspective to experimental electronic music, informed by his dual life as an urban designer and musician. Having spent 30 years studying cities from above-observing patterns, imperfections, and beauty in urban forms-he applies the same architectural sensibility to his sonic landscapes. Musically, Stafford has been creating for three decades, notably releasing albums with lo-fi/post-rock duo The Longest Day and performing as drummer with post-punk act Funeral Tango, both from Melbourne's Feral Media label. His 2024 debut solo album, The Imperfect City, was presented as a multimedia exhibition combining large-scale drawings, Super 8mm urban footage, and electronic dream pop, exploring themes of urban fragility through droning, lo-fi aesthetics.
