Brett Winterford has penned six songs inspired by Sydney Long's much-loved Australian landscape, 'Pan'. They will be released in mid-2012 as his first solo work: ‘The Greenthumb EP’. Recorded by Josh Schuberth (Josh Pyke), the songs offer wistful lyrics and irresistible melodies and an enchanting mix of nylon-string acoustics and mandolins, pianos and mellotron, shakers, timpani and tom drums. They also feature cameos from Mr Percival, Ray Mann and Kent Eastwood. Lyrically, the songs concern the reclaiming of imagination as an adult, freed from the constraints of religion and institution. And like 'Pan', they are a wide-eyed expression of wonderment for the natural world and those that choose to live peacefully in it. Brett will be touring the new record through Europe from May – September 2012, before a short run of shows in Australia. Check out http://www.brettwinterford.com
