Named after Sarah Miller's 2020 New Yorker essay, Bridge Dog first made waves in 2021 with a string of jangly, hook-heavy singles. Their debut EP, Going South combines shoegaze, power pop, and surf-rock influences for a bright, summery sound that calls back to both the washed-out haze of bands like My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, and Lush, as well as the sunny, intricately interwoven harmonies of power pop hits of the 60s and 70s. On their latest project, Bridge Dog have continued to expand the horizons of their songwriting, veering into noisier, dreamier territory. Lead single “Counterweight,” is one of the group’s most dramatic, multifaceted songs yet. Their follow-up release, "Blue Flags," was selected as one of The Guardian Australia's picks of the best songs of June 2023. Their latest release, "Standard Issue", was premiered on KEXP. Bridge Dog have played support to the likes of Last Dinosaurs and Royel Otis as they prepare to release their debut full length album in 2024.
