Since the demise of subtruck in 2007, Phil Bradley and Rob Troup enjoyed a brief sabbatical before employing the ferocious pounding youth of Phil’s son Jake to form BRUTUS. The band soon embarked on an intense writing and rehearsal period in late 2008, culminating in the release of their debut album, slated for release in October 2010. BRUTUS is a hard edged slab of fury, a blunt road train of rock thuggery and precision fustigation, boasting a big, fat sound and violent lyrical honesty. Local shows over the last year and a half, including a support slot with Shihad have seen them described in X-press Magazine as possessing “…fuck-off sized guns from the get go”… and having “…launched straight into a throat-crushing ninja kick that knocked tonight’s early crowd on their collective arse”... BRUTUS' debut self titled album was released late October and is available now.
