Camp Luna began primarily as a coping mechanism. A product of frustration - anyone in a band knows the feeling …. But instead of screaming at band mates, this energy was expelled via long walks through the cemeteries of London, ruminating and writing songs that would never work inside the band. Why? For one thing, no indulgence was off the table; trumpets, 80’s synths, duets and sporadic guitar breaks, potentially made for the most passé music conceivable. Conceived in 2016, the idea of Camp Luna came closer to reality midway through 2019, after encouragement to complete the project by friends who had listened to early demos. The second single ‘Honesty’ is about stepping past fear and letting at least one person know who you really are. Recorded exclusively in bedrooms and on minimal equipment, ‘Honesty’ is exactly that; a real representation of where Camp Luna is at, including the limitations, naïveté’s and mistakes.
