Adelaide based Capt Midnight inspires hip-hop infused narcotized daydreams akin to those sparked by The Dandy Warhols’ Come Down or the Gorillaz’ Demon Days. As featured vocalists and frequent collaborators, Louise Uphill (200 Motels, Louise Lovedust) and Jamie Tuck (Sleeping Genie) deliver deep earthy tones drawing on a line of powerful chanteuses. Together, they map out a sound that is familiar to fans of the rock and hip-hop music of the 90’s. With it, they bring the 90’s zeitgeist: something not held in nostalgia, but digging into an ideal and energy that will never be forgotten
