Melbourne-bred Cara started penning songs during a year of isolation, surrounded by Douglas firs just outside Portland, Oregon. Cara Diaria is a feminine play on “Dear Diary,” with songs evoking the pages of a journal; reflections and confessions filling the space where human connection should be. Sweet, hopeful vocals and sparkling keyboards intertwine with dark beats and brooding guitars. On a forested crest often shrouded with fog and snow, Cara finds hope and solace in the sunlight that sometimes dares to filter through the boughs, reminding her that change is coming.
