This multi talented Indie Artist from the mighty Waikato of New Zealand, credits much of her passion for music, to both her Maori culture background and a 7 year attendance at a boarding school for the blind. Due to a diagnosis of a rare eye cancer (bi-lateral retino blastoma) which led to total blindness at age 6,henry attended a boarding school where she learnt Braille, music and many life skills adapted for the Blind. in spite of her initial reluctance and terrible home sickness, Henry soon discovered she was in a music heaven. Having always been told by her family that she couldn't sing, and a growing envy for the talent of her many peers at the school, She decided to dig for the musician within. Henry spent her 7 years at boarding school pursuing a list of instruments including: A 2 year stint on the autoharp, 7 years of classical piano, 3 years singing soprano in the choir, 4 years piano accordion, a brief stint with the recorder and classical guitar. she left the boarding
