Newcastle singer/songwriter, Cassie Corder has always had a passion for music. She began singing at an early age, first started learning guitar at the age of 10 and is also a self-taught pianist. She has since performed overseas, at various school concerts, on cruise ships, as an unofficial guest, and at multiple clubs/pubs/taverns around Newcastle. With her sights set on becoming a well-known artist/musician, she is dedicating her full attention to performing, building on her repertoire, songwriting and recording. Cassie Corder writes songs about her feelings, emotions, experiences or messages that she feels need to be shared and heard by others, resonating with audiences. Alongside many other gifted songwriters, Cassie was selected as a semi-finalist in The Songwriting Prize, a national songwriting competition for her debut single 'Mirror Mirror'. Her single 'Dear Memory' has achieved Top 30 recognition in the spiritual category in the Australian Songwriters Association, which highlights her ability in songwriting well beyond her years. Having recently completed high school, Cassie Corder witnessed the effects of the 'perfect body' on a person's self esteem. Her debut single 'Mirror Mirror' is written from a teenage girl's perspective who sees herself as unworthy, battling society's expectations of body image. Conquering these expectations by letting the mirror "shatter" in a cathartic release, provides listeners with a sense of hope. The song aims to bring about acceptance of oneself, by encouraging individuals to value themselves. After the passing of Cassie's Uncle, her Father's Brother, in December, 2023, she wrote 'Dear Memory' to express the importance of memory in allowing those special to us to live on after they pass. The lyrics of the verses, using the metaphor of a storm, describe the emotions one experiences when someone close to them passes away, whilst the lyrics in the chorus, are the words of a letter in which Cassie is pleading for her memories to "never fade", thus allowing her Uncle to live on. "Dear Memory" is an emotional, pop ballad with evocative lyrics. Her latest single 'Let Me See You Dance', inspired by her love for EDM and dancing, is a catchy, energetic track which will certainly get you in the mood to dance. It was produced by well-known Newcastle producer and musician, Matt McLaren. With an extensive repertoire of easy listening music such as acoustic songs, ballads, pop, originals, instrumentals and crowd pleasers, her music appeals to audiences of all age groups and is perfect for restaurants, cafes, clubs, pubs and weddings. Cassie is available for bookings and can be contacted via email or social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.
