Chainsaw Preachers was formed in June of 2018 after 3 friends came together at a Cosmic Psychos Gig. Peter Marsella Singer/Bass player had been writing songs for 2 years prior and Guitarist Darren Mcrae and Drummer Stephen Barry on hearing the tracks came on board to get the stuff out live. The first gig was to a packed house at the Cumby Hotel in Adelaide in the November of that year and was followed by a string of gigs into 2019 culminating in a decision to record 5 tracks. These were released independently as the Preaching to the Perverted EP in June 2019. In November of 2020 Stephen Barry left the band and was replaced by current drummer Daniel Harris (ex Submerge/King Krill) and the band went back into the studio to work on unfinished tracks and new material from which the new Album – Culture War emerged. The Album was released on April 29th. Chainsaw Preachers supported Swedish band No Fun At All on the Adelaide leg of their recent Australian tour.
