Emerging as a magical mystery duo from Central Coast, Australia. Characters is a euphoric and nostalgic synthesis of frontman Benjamin Myer Welch and Alistar Karl-Crooks. The two strangers met after a string of unfinished demos and a classic case of heart break lay the dream of music lost for Benjamin. That’s when by chance, or perhaps calling to be found, the demos later made their way into the ears of Alistar through a mutual friend many years later. What followed was a sudden serendipity introduction that ushered an inspiring shift in self-belief that led them both to let go of their former lives to pursue a dream together, which they call Characters.
