Charlie Cole’s passion for female fronted Rock and Roll is deeply rooted within her childhood, being raised by parents working the Melbourne Pub rock scene of the 1980’s. The apple didn’t fall far from the tree and by her early 20’s, Charlie also circulated the Melbourne pub rock scene with her first band, the Bang Bang Bangs. Heavily influenced by Australian artists such as Rose Tattoo, Divinyls and The Angels, combined with a love of three chord punk rock icons, the Ramones, the Bang Bang Bangs forged a reputation as fast and loud brats from inner city Melbourne. Later, the band became runner’s up in MTV’s 2007 Wot Next Music Competition. Charlie went on to form punk rock acts, The Disasters and X-Rental Trash, before taking a hiatus in the Northern Territory. Returning to Victoria in 2015 and basing herself out of Bendigo, Charlie joined forces with Melbourne producer James Fowkes to collaborate on her warmly received debut solo EP, Back From The Dead.
