On a strong upward trajectory, Charlie Lane is a Naarm/Melbourne-based singer-songwriter blending blues, folk and Americana with raw, emotive songwriting and a powerful live presence. Her debut album ‘I’m Okay Now But I Wasn’t’ received national airplay across ABC Country and community radio, earning praise for its honest storytelling and genre crossing sound. A compelling live performer, Charlie has appeared at festivals including St Kilda Festival and ROAR Festival, alongside additional appearances at Albert Park Festival of Music, and has played regional Victorian tours across 2024 and 2025. She recently sold out her album launch at The Cactus Room, and has performed in store sets including Readings Bookstore (Carlton) and was part of Record Store Day at Wah Wah Records 2025. Now stepping into a grittier, blues-driven sound inspired by Alabama Shakes, Larkin Poe and Tami Neilson, Charlie is currently developing new material that marks a bold new chapter in her artistry.

My name is Charlie Lane. I started playing guitar when I was 5 years old and I've been singing since I was 11. My influences are Jake Bugg, Ed Sheeran and Jimmy Phoenix. I hope you enjoy my music. My stuff so far is just recorded off my computer. I will be going into studios to record properly with a backing band soon.

It inspires me whenever I hear something that is real. Most kids my age consider me strange. That is because of my music taste. While they're all listening to Will Sparks, Cat Empire and people like that, I am found listening to old records of Neil Young, Don McLean, Robert Johnson and Clapton. My first guitar was a very cheap Valencia guitar. To be honest, at first I hated guitar. Absolutely hated the bloody thing. I was too young to fully appreciate music and what it stood for. After a couple of years I started
