Streetlight/Devil & The Sea is the current release from Melbourne band Charlie Officer. The double-A side is the result of an ongoing collaboration between the band and recordist Andrew Bencina at his Winter Hill studio. Mixing and mastering was completed at The Mill; home of Gotye's Grammy award winning 'Making Mirrors'. Fusing elements of 90's indie rock, synth-pop and glitch soundscapes the work stems from an exploration of the possibilities the studio affords a band, otherwise constrained by their live 3-piece line-up. Merely a first step, these songs provide an overview of the diverse and often conflicting musical interests of the group as they work towards their first full length album. Please listen & enjoy.
