I've been singing all my life and mostly along with radio stars, my Mum and my old Cockney grandfather. I began writing songs about things that effect me strongly, around 2003. One of the first songs I wrote was 'Save The Planet, Kill Yourself' I'll never forget the reaction I got from my 'Folk Club' audience...after I calmed my shaking knees and got off the stool. 'Well we're too far gone and there aint no doubt, that pretty soon this planet is gonna spit us out' In 2003 I was driving between Mackay and Brisbane with my husband and we stopped on the Caliope River for dinner late at night. The lyrics to 'My Horses, My Heart' downloaded into my head in around 10 minutes, complete with music. I grabbed a torch and my diary to jot it down with tears streaming down my face.
