At a time when Albury high schooler Sam Morell needed something to remind himself that he didn't need a good ATAR, Cheap Spooks was born from the frets of a Fender Telecaster, in the bedroom of his parent's house. A concoction of love for the energetic riffs of DZ Deathrays, the baritone vocals of Interpol, and everything about Foo Fighters — the true potential of Cheap Spooks was realised once Sam started attending gigs and festivals regularly after he completed his schooling. Sam spent several years fine-tuning his songs, while acquiring necessary gear to establish his sound and record his tunes in his bedroom. Now finally ready to be released unto the world, like a high school graduate with hopes and fears, here is Cheap Spooks.
