After two years together, and as many reincarnations, Cheer to the Echo has rested on its new name, but refuses to rest musically. Perpetually stumped by the question ‘What do you play?’ the band’s five members, coming from both shared and varied musical traditions, dedicate themselves to pushing musical boundaries rather than attempting to realise a particular ‘sound’. Audiences should expect a melee of genres; a product of the spread of musical and lyrical contributions from its five creative parts. Cheer to the Echo’s inception came from the fraternal passion of Stephen and Adrian Kingwell. Both passionate and gifted, they finally and formally combined talents to form the group in late 2007. Stephen’s long-time university friend and partner-in-crime, Mark Price, returned from travels to assume lead guitar. Stephen’s fellow work colleague and friend, Adam Perrella, took on the role of bassist and the inimitably talented Kyno Ho was ‘snared’ as the group’s official drummer.
