At only 18 years of age, Chey Berther has just released her first single ‘You Are More’. The song was written and inspired by one of Chey’s best friend’s in a time of need. Chey says “One of my closest friends in high school really struggled with self-image and went into a deep depression. This inspired me to write a song, showing her that I believe that she was so much more”. From a very young age, Chey has shown a natural ability of a singer/songwriter. Picking up the guitar at the age of 7, Chey’s stepfather showed her the basics of guitar and from there she developed a passion for not only music, but the storytelling involved with music. Chey says today, “I hope this song will connect to many others and help them through any mental health struggles they face. If this song was to only help one another person, I would feel as if I had achieved my goal”.
