A Northern English storyteller and master guitarist with a soul-drenched voice. Chris’s songs are forged beneath the landscape of the bridges and shipyards of working-class Newcastle where he grew up. A Geordie who wears his heart on his sleeve, Chris takes you on a journey of hedonism, lost souls and deep love whilst mesmerising you with extraordinary finger picking and beautiful melodic chords. "Chris immediately grabs you in with fiery fingerpicking, crazy open tunings and ingenious technique. Once he stabs a chopstick under the strings and plays either side of it to give an oriental effect, and tunes his bass string up and down mid-song, you know you are in the hands of a master guitarist. But it’s his haunting storytelling songs that really pull you in. Firmly rooted in traditional folk and forged forward by a modern pioneer. Chris Allan has arrived."
