Chuditch is the dark, brooding artistic project of cherished Western Australian songwriter Leigh Gardiner. Collaborating with many creative friends and heroes such as composer Rebecca Erin Smith and artist Nathan Martella, Leigh has facilitated a unique style of DIY music across the many acts he’s involved with. After reaching the finals of the 2020 International Songwriting Competition with his debut single ‘Grasping at the Water’ and 2021 Semi Finals with the 80s inspired ‘Cue The Violins’, Chuditch is continuing to mix things up with the folk inspired Hope is a Cruel Curse. Once again featuring the string arrangements of Rebecca Erin Smith, Hope is a Cruel Curse is about that feeling of worthlessness, despair and that everyone would be better off without you.
