Citizen Rat is a relentless punk/metal force from the Sunshine Coast, pieced together from the ashes of great local bands and forged into something raw, urgent, and unstoppable. Fusing high-energy riffs, raw emotion, and an electrifying stage presence, their music dives deep into themes of self-doubt, resilience, and self-discovery. Frontman Dartanyon Hutchison’s unique vocal style cuts through blistering guitars and pounding drums, creating anthems for the restless and misunderstood. Their sound thrives on contrast—bright, vibrant energy colliding with dark, introspective lyricism, where chaotic riffs and soaring melodies mask the weight of internal struggles. If Fugazi and The Bronx had a love child raised on of self-doubt, resilience, and introspection, it would sound like this. With a fresh lineup and a run of explosive releases on the way, they’re ready to make waves.
