Close to the Sun are a dynamic Sydney-based indie folk duo who meld acoustic, classical, electric, slide, bass guitar and percussion. Close to the Sun have a Sunnyboys feel with Convict rock character. Ed’s vocal style has an edgy blues tone while JP has a pensive, vulnerable style. Their singing styles are different but complement each other. JP plays an uplifting jazz folk style of lead guitar with a slight Spanish influence. Ed paints pictures with his heartfelt and cheeky storytelling. Together, they create rich, honest songs that make you think and smile at the same time.
