Gravitating towards hits from decades past, Cloud Rider (AKA Deb Burnett) draws inspiration from old school vibes and forges her own space in the modern pop scene. Amidst interwoven synths, rhythmic bass lines and washed out vocals soaked in delay, Cloud Rider tips her hat to 90’s house and disco beats, resulting in a dreamy yet fun and energetic vibe. Taking a step sideways from her indie/folk beginnings as a songwriter, Cloud Rider maintains a strong emphasis on melody and killer hooks that etch into the mind. Her sincere and uncomplicated lyrics are mirrored by the purposefully simple production, presenting the songs in the unpretentious way they were intended. Listeners are invited into the bliss Deb discovered when she started locking herself away to embrace the emerging sound. Having released her debut single, “I Want Better” in July 2020, this is just the beginning for Cloud Rider with more catchy singles to drop over the coming months.
