Cocapenny is an upbeat 3 piece funk, roots band from the Central Coast. Their music combines smooth soulful vocals, a mix of electric and acoustic guitar, funky slapping bass and an underlining punchy rhythm of percussion and drums. Cocapenny’s sound is based around funk and roots, although you can definitely discern snippets of reggae, jazz and even hip hop throughout their catchy songs. Cocapenny began in June 06 when three high school friends reunited with the same passion for writing music. After developing their style and writing a strong repertoire of original songs they performed a few local gigs on the Central Coast and got great feedback selling out their shows. After a very successful start they are now eager to pursue their goals and take the Cocapenny sound throughout Australia and beyond. Cocapenny’s shows are high energy, jam driven performances, combining all instrument solos and charismatic stage antics. Throughout the set you will see both the band and the crowd
