Naarm/Birraranga (Melbourne) band Cold Hands Warm Heart’s experimental yet inviting compositions are small journeys deeply rooted in a sense of place and connection to the natural environment. Centred around the base compositions of Genevieve Fry (Grand Salvo, Hear My Eyes: Suspiria, Prudence Rees-Lee), the group’s performances are stunningly textural and energetic reflecting the improvised and unpredictable temperament of the ecological world. Perfect for fans of Linda Perhacs, Julia Holter or Gaussian Curve, Cold Hands Warm Heart’s sound combines new-age with new-wave, resulting in a mood that’s layered and tasteful, blending mosaics of harp, synth, recorder and guitar as a backdrop to Fry’s intimate, stunning songwriting. In 2016 Cold Hands Warm Heart released their self-titled debut LP on Eastmint Label - a moving collection of six songs recorded with Joe Talia (On Diamond, Ned Collette) and awarded tied-Album of the Year (Narnie Award) on 3RRR’s Banana Lounge Broadcasting.
