"Melodically lush, rhythmically compelling... gloriously precise and urgent." –The Wire Cougar makes instrumental music. Their lush, dynamic arrangements fall somewhere between early Four Tet, Tortoise, Fugazi, and Nick Drake, but what separates Cougar from the post-rock pack is their keen sensibility of form/texture, which is more in line with sample-based music/modern classical than indie rock.
