Crompy is from New Zealand. His music is quite ecclectic and his sound has gathered many comparisons from Syd Barret, to Billy Bragg, Supergrass, Bob Dylan, John Lennon, Radiohead, The Violent Femmes, Eddie Vedder, Jim Morrison, Mick Jagger, Cat Stevens, The Kinks, Nick Cave, Elvis Costello, Roy Wood, Elephant6 and Oasis. Outside of these artists a big influence he cites is Roxette's Per Gessle.
