Cross Pollinate is a graffiti-stained, young and energetic group with catchy melodies, heartfelt lyrics, and danceable live shows. The four-piece indie rock band from Sydney formed in high school and is inspired by bands like Spacey Jane and Hockey Dad, combining loud guitars and groove-driven songs to create a sound bursting with carefree fun. Their songs are about a range of topics, including spur-of-the-moment food fights on a romantic first date in their debut single, “If You Need Another Reason”, and grappling with panic attacks in day-to-day life in their yet-to-be-released track, “Sick Day”. As they approach their headline show at the Lansdowne Hotel with openers Astrovan and Ditzy Dog, followed by their second release gig at Oxford Art Factory with Failsafe, Cross Pollinate enter a new era: one with music available for streaming, energy-filled performances, and lots of laughs.
