The name “Crying Blue Rhetoric” came about the night before our first ever live show in February 2003. The group is a vehicle for each member to rejoice in the profound worth of voicing individuality and intuition through music and artistic expression, but as the title implies we make noise to influence others and share with them our point of view. Mid to late 2002 began the gestation period of Crying Blue Rhetoric. Founding members Lucas, Daryl and Rohan, plus the original bass player Tim, all went to the same high school in the Adelaide Hills. Lucas had written several songs with which he wanted to form a band and through mutual interest in musical styles ranging from Tool to Jeff Buckley all of the members one day found themselves in a room learning songs and making music together.
