Crying Sirens began in 2007 with members of four different touring Melbourne bands getting together in a suburban warehouse hammering out original songs combining a love of melodic rock, punk and indie music. An EP was recorded in early 2009 with noted local producer Jimi Maroudas (whose credits include work with the Living End, Pete Murray, Tim Rogers, Eskimo Joe). Crying Sirens' music deals with themes ranging from politics to escapism, the holes in the legal system to forgetting about plastic people, and just about everything in between; all set to a backdrop of indie and punk guitars, with a backbone of pulsing drums and bass and melodically rasping vocals that comes up sounding distinctly Australian.
