A lot can happen in the space of a year. Releasing his debut EP in early 2014 to great local critical acclaim, “Narcissus” became the starting point in which Curtis McEntee finally began to believe in himself and his musical endeavours. “I was made for loving you” - the lead single from the EP pays homage to the folk influences that followed Curtis throughout his teenage years - Damien Rice, Ray Lamontage, City & Colour are but a few. The songs’ recent nomination for WAM’s ‘Song of the Year’ award is testament to the power of the reminiscent ballad - and it’s performance live is always one to grip and silence any crowd. Fast forward one year, many gigs later, and Curtis is ready to release new music. With an EP set to be recorded in August 2015 the new single “Home” is a taste of what’s to come. Drawing on his love of brit-pop Curtis has far removed his sound from the folk stylings of before and now places his electric guitar and dynamic vocals to fore with astute aplomb.
