DAH L R have been writing and recording songs in their 'play room' since getting together in 1995. Inspiration is eclectic, from New Order, Everything But The Girl and Daft Punk to Kaiser Chiefs, Maximo Park, Bloc Party and Arctic Monkeys. Even ’little Kylie’ gets a look in now and then and probably one of the least well known Marc Almond songs ’Adored and Explored’ gets amped up to full volume once the booze starts flowing. A real partnership evolved on these tracks with lyrics, vocal and keyboards by Amanda and music, bass, synth and drums by Darren. Serendipity also played a part with an accidental ’sample’ coming into being on 'Closer to Midnight'. Closer to Midnight is real Euro trash dance - reminiscent of many nights in Tenerife and Ibiza. It's retro we know but give it a chance - it might just blow your frock up! 'A Call to Dance' whilst in our heads always had a definite Eastern influence.
