Try as you might, it’s almost impossible to put Damasyria in a box. While it’s hard to ignore the band’s hard rock roots, dig a little deeper and it’s clear Damasyria is a band with an open mind. Grunge, rock, punk, even a little funk, this four piece touches on just about anything as they push themselves to the creative limit. Their music has drawn comparisons with a wildly diverse range of artists, from Karnivool and Seether, to the Foo Fighters. The band first came together a few years back when drummer Taylor was invited to jam with Kling and Richardson, who’d been playing together for years, largely as an acoustic duo. Almost immediately, the combination clicked and the trio set about writing a batch of songs that displayed their growing talent and confidence. When Fordham joined the band in 2006, the line-up was complete and Damasyria starting dipping its toes in the live scene. Since then they’ve hit the stage of Rosie’s Tavern in Brisbane, the Sunshine Coast’s Sands Tavern
