Daren's life, musical and otherwise, has been that of a spiritual nomad since his teenage years, moving away from the conservative roots that his community were entwined in. Throughout his travels, he has toured and written music about his life experiences concerning love, religion and power. The melodic and harmonic structures are influenced by the many genres Daren loves: classical, electronic, folk and soul. Names that come to mind when hearing his music are Moses Sumney and James Blake with their similar use of contrapuntal motion, orchestral arrangement and strong use of electronic timbre.
