“Darktown River are purveyors of fine original Alternative Country music that embodies the rich fabric of rural and urban Australia, featuring the real and imagined stories of our Pubs, towns, Farms Cities, Coastlines, and some of the characters that live (or lived) there. Singer Songwriter, Brendan Hogan is from a long line of Riverina story tellers. The band contains some very seasoned and experienced musicians, including guitar player, Chris Paterson, country piano player Rikki Chaplin, Brisbane Folk legend Mick Nolan on bass and vocals (Asleep at the Reel), and the human metronome himself, Stu Greenway on drums (Abel Tasman’s, Undersea TV). With many influences ranging from outlaw country such as Hank Williams Snr, Johnny Cash, Townes Van Zandt, and Don Walker, right through to Alt Rock like Nick Cave, Wilco, Pavement and The Pixies, the bands set of original songs along with a few specially selected covers are bound to strike a chord with a wide range of punters. Adding to their back catalogue, Darktown River have just released a brand new EP named "Pamandi Rd."
