When we think Female Fronted Symphonic Metal and Gothic Metal, our minds automatically think of the Ethereal Diva's such as Tarja Turunen (ex Nightwish) and Simone Simons (Epica) and each year the number of carbon copy artists increases. Perhaps it's time for a change. Perhaps the change is right here. Australian singer Gina Bafile's unique vocal is far from predictable as she has a way of blending together all the different colors of her voice taking you on an emotional roller coaster unlike any other female artist. It was through a company called Online Recording Masters in Athens that Darkyra found her counterparts for what was to become her very first self-titled project. George Boussounis, owner/music arranger formed the introduction to drummer Garry King (Jeff Beck, Joe Lynn Turner, Ian Parry) who was involved in his own uprising power metal project Achillea and not too long after the bond had seen three additional Achillea members join the ranks of the Darkyra Black team.
