Ignoring all safety warnings, Dead Cowboys launched their live career on the hottest night of 2005. Just before New Years, the boys gave it all to a steamy Tote Bandroom. The crowd roared to life, ignoring the suffocating heat. The bass player however, refusing to remove his full leather jacket, proceeded to rock on until he passed out under the blistering stage lights. He was later revived with beer and suffered no long-term damage. Playing at some of Melbourne’s top venues has seen Dead Cowboys’ profile grow rapidly. One of their highlights was a PBS Live-to-Air performance, to a capacity crowd at the Cherry Bar in AC/DC lane. In June 2006, they secured a month long residency in the front bar of The Esplanade Hotel. Dead Cowboys have also played to sell-out shows at Ding Dong Lounge.
