Influenced by the noise/pop-grunge movements which seemingly loitered inside every packed bar throughout Melbourne, then climatizing their sound following a relocation to Perth. We have the pleasure to introduce... Dead Owls Angsty storytelling paint a picture over a multitude of distorted effect-driven riffs, and trashy pulsating grooves. Dead Owls are said to produce something that can only be described as the freak-child of their influences. debut single "Final Thoughts" was recorded and mixed by Brian Mitra at Fremantle Records, and mastered in the US by Brian Lucey (The Black Keys, Abbe May) at Magic Garden Mastering. ciao!

‘Only Child’ is the lead track from Dead Owls new EP 'Small Talk'. Recorded by Dave Parkin (Jebediah, Drapht) at Blackbird Studios, the track takes a fresh approach to guitar based indie rock and channels the likes of Arcade Fire at their emotive best. A marching band rhythm section combines with repetitive vocal hooks to build over two and a half minutes, before reaching an exceptional climax that marks a new songwriting high from the Perth duo.
