In a world dominated by materialistic pursuits and personal gain, Debra Gibson & The Rising Lotus offer a very fresh alternative. Husband and wife, Debra and Daniel Gibson, began songwriting together after a desire to create music with depth and greater meaning. They have embraced music to reach out to others in order to inspire loving-kindness and compassion toward all, and often to probe the inner workings of the human mind. Their debut album, “Spread Your Wings”, blends carefully crafted songs with passion, sincerity, gripping melodies and powerful vocals. It was recorded with some of Adelaide’s finest musicians, including BJ Barker on drums (who drummed for Kasey Chamber for 17 years), veteran saxophonist Ralphe Franke (who has played extensively on the international music scene with greats like Sting and BB King), and locally revered keyboard player Rod Ennis. Just as the lotus rises above its muddy waters to reveal its inner beauty, this album will serve as a timely reminder
