With a foot firmly in the past but an eye keenly on the future, Deep Blue Day have a sound that is immediately familiar yet invitingly original. Like all great pop bands, they take the same old chords and make them sound new. The band posses a lush studio sound that beats with an unstoppable rock and roll heart. Their Debut EP ‘This is the Girl’ displays an artistic ambition beyond the confines of a regular 3 piece rock band, inviting the listener into a warm sonic place, visualised superbly by the accompanying dream like film clip directed by local film maker Daniel Armstrong. Live they take it up a notch and attack like a real power trio, letting the songs speak for themselves in their most basic form.. and LOUD.
