Creatures of the inner urban decay, we are not mainstream History Meeting: 1984 in the shadow of the Berlin wall grafittiing anti-GDR slogans under the blank stare of an East German border guard. Zling: bass player and creative force behind the electrofuse-ultrapunk band Untspracht, playing the underground scene in the haze-filled café clubs in alleyways off the Potsdamer Platz. Pienbusta: recording sounds of tram wheels, tramps pissing onto tyres and the rantings of sundry manic crazies - turned into loops and used as soundtracks in the Neoist and post-Fluxist projects of the artists Hermann Heis and Franz Schengler. Argueably the world’s first sample-driven music First Commercial Hit: “Bebe I möchten Ihr Winkelstück haltenbut”, made from processed and synch’d samples of a chain rattling and someone eating fruit over the hypnotic chanting of a voodoo ceremony played in reverse. Covered by many European artists as diverse as Buzz and the Rip-Your-Throats-Out to Julio Iglesias.
