Surfing movies mostly had punk soundtracks and we watched a lot of them as a teenagers so that's where we got into punk music. Had no musical background but wanted to start a band, went to TAFE and enrolled in music course. Met the guitarist Franko who had some friends who could play bass and drums. We started jamming in a garage and later formed Department of Correction.
