NSW Central Coast-based experimental-electronic pop duo Desert Moons have just revealed their stellar new cut ‘Running Away’ – produced and recorded by the group themselves at their home studio. Taking cues from the likes of Tame Impala, Ratatat and Thom Yorke, ‘Running Away’ is a melting pot of psych-rock, indie-rock and synth-pop. Driven by its steady rhythmic section and glimmering with fuzzed-out synthesisers, the track is capped off by enigmatic front man Jake Dobson’s infectious melodies floating elegantly and effortlessly above. Both Jake and fellow band mate and brother, Simon Dobson, have been playing and performing music together since an early age. They’ve worked as session musicians in the studio and live, as well as releasing music and touring the world with their bands. Desert Moons is the first project the brothers have collaborated on as a duo. Over the coming months, Desert Moons will continue to record and release new music.
