I started singing at 14 and playing guitar at 15 but never pursued these as a career. I performed both originals and covers as a solo artist and with a band in 2003-04. I then did some recording in 2008. Now in 2011 I've returned to writing and performing. The three things that motivate my music are a solid, rhythmic groove, soaringly beautiful melodies, and textural interest. The first comes from the blues, blues-rock and jazz, the second from ethnic folk music and artists who have drawn on these. Texture in guitar sounds and in vocals is important to me - sometimes I use these as percussive elements in the music. I don't have a drummer or a bassist, so if you play either of these and like my stuff, let me know!

I'm Diana. I'm a singer, guitarist, composer, visual artist and voice actor. My music is rhythm and blues-based but heavily influenced by jazz, funk, pop, classical and folk music. I started playing piano aged 5 then later picked up the guitar at 15, upon hearing Hendrix. I was in a band when I was younger but lately I've been performing solo. I record music and release it on Spotify, iTunes and Bandcamp.
