Didi is the alter ego of Logan City journalist David Costello. It is fair to say that Didi is fraying at the edges, drinking too much and acting like a geriatric adolescent at times. David is a bit like this but is marginally more responsible than Didi. David has been described as a D-grade celebrity and has some public exposure as a former Foreign Editor of The Courier Mail. In fact, David still writes a food column which appears in the paper on Fridays. He wouldn’t be surprised if you missed it because the Fossicking column is fairly small and way up the back of the paper. Sometimes, David reviews albums for The Courier Mail, mostly in the roots, American and alt-country genres. Every now and then David/Didi takes off his beloved Ramones and Yamba T-shirts and wears a suit to attend meetings of the Australian Institute of International Affairs.
